About the Role

Lycopodium Limited is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. As a key member of our Project Services Group, you will be responsible for providing support in the areas of procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Logistics
    • Perform all dealings with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and freight company personnel professionally, ethically, and efficiently, to ensure the highest possible service levels.
    • Communicate openly, professionally, ethically, and efficiently at all times with all internal customers to ensure that the highest customer service level is achieved.
    • Adhere to the various project-specific and company procedures, work practices, plans, systems, and protocols required to work efficiently, and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.
    • Responsible and accountable for all expediting functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
    • Responsible and accountable for all logistics functions as directed by the Procurement & Contracts Manager and/or Project Manager.
    • Ensure all assigned purchasing processes are followed strictly in accordance with documented and authorized company procedures.
  • Project Support
    • Provide support to the Project Services Group (PSG) or a specific project, as required.
  • Expertise and Qualifications
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing, expediting, transport, and logistics disciplines in mining, minerals, engineering, or construction industries.
    • Projects experience with demonstrable procurement, purchasing, expediting, cost control, and transport and logistics knowledge.
    • Excellent communication skills, written, electronic, and verbal.
    • High degree of professional ethics.
    • Initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work without supervision.
