Job Title: Student Nurse Extern

Humber River Health is seeking a Temporary Casual Student Nurse Extern to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department.

Job Summary:

The Student Nurse Extern will provide direct personal support to patients, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses. This role is an excellent opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic care and support to patients, including activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Document patient care and activities in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the inter-professional healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in years 2-4 of a nursing program of studies.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively communicate with the inter-professional healthcare team.
