Student Nurse Extern Position

Humber River Health is seeking a Student Nurse Extern to join our team in the 8 East Respirology Unit. As a Student Nurse Extern, you will provide direct personal support to patients, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.
Responsibilities:- Provide basic care needs for up to 10 patients, including activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
- Document activities of daily living, such as intake and output, and relevant communication for patients.
- Work collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Participate in mandatory training and education programs, including Privacy & Confidentiality requirements, WHMIS, Fire & Safety, and hand hygiene modules.
- Currently enrolled in years 2-4 of a nursing program of studies.
- Current CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to provide basic assistive care with frequent supervision and ongoing mentoring from a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse.
