Job Title: Student Nurse Extern

Humber River Health is seeking a motivated and compassionate Student Nurse Extern to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department.

About the Role:

The Student Nurse Extern will provide direct personal support to patients, assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and feeding. This role is an excellent opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience and develop their clinical skills under the supervision of experienced Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic care and support to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living
  • Document patient care and activities, such as intake and output
  • Communicate effectively with the inter-professional healthcare team
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in years 2-4 of a nursing program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
