Staff Backend Engineer for Access Control at Webflow

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer to join our Collaboration team and contribute to the development of Access Control features and capabilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend services related to Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) with configurable and granular permissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design scalable backend services for RBAC with configurable and granular permissions
  • Drive cross-pillar collaboration with software engineers, product managers, designers, and QA analysts
  • Effectively communicate team priorities and strategy to engineering and cross-functional leadership teams
  • Write and update scalable software in modern stacks such as node.js, MongoDB, and AWS, coding primarily in TypeScript
  • Build and maintain unit and integration tests, ensuring high-quality and product excellence
  • Solve complex problems in a highly technical platform that empowers hundreds of thousands of people
  • Improve our planning, development, and deployment processes to enhance team productivity
  • Mentor, coach, and inspire a team of engineers of various levels

About You:

We are looking for a highly experienced Backend Engineer with a strong background in scalable, multi-tenant environments and experience building access control systems such as RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs, etc. You should have 7-10+ years of experience in the field and a proven track record of leading feature teams on customer-facing products.
