Job Summary

The Claims Clerk provides critical support to the CAA Club Group by handling various administrative tasks related to claims processing. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and direct inquiry calls from clients, brokers, insurance companies, and internal staff
  • Provide instructions on how to proceed with claims
  • Direct calls to the appropriate party for handling
  • Liaise with multiple departments within the Company
  • Process new claims in various systems, entering data in systems and recording in claims logs
  • Receive claims transaction data and record in relevant systems
  • Pay small claims such as windshield repair and replacement; deal directly with vendors and provide pricing
  • Process weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Ensure claims portal is updated
  • Prepare weekly deposits
  • Responsible for printing claims cheques, scanning, and preparing for mailing
  • Sort and process all incoming and outgoing mail for the Department
  • Coordinate the maintenance of office equipment with the Office Services department

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked
  • Perform arithmetical operations quickly and accurately
  • Rate information by using personal judgment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Multi-tasker for a fast-paced environment
