Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-oriented Class 5 Driver to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up equipment, ensuring timely and safe transportation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment, securing it according to company procedures and inspecting it during transit as needed.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment, maintaining accurate records of delivery and pickup.
  • Secure customer signatures on contracts, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisors of any difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and job sites, reporting them to management.
  • Verify delivered items to ensure customers receive the correct equipment.
  • Notify the branch if behind schedule, allowing customers to be contacted.
  • Provide equipment operation instructions to customers.
  • Handle missing or broken equipment, completing the necessary forms and submitting them to the Branch Manager.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections, checking gas, oil, and fluid levels.
  • Assist with equipment washing and loading/unloading at branches as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than three demerit points).
  • Experience operating and delivering small tools and equipment is required.
  • Experience moving heavy oversize loads is an asset.
  • Experience driving light trucks is an asset.
  • Familiarity with local roads.
  • Customer-oriented, professional, and courteous demeanor.
  • Team-oriented and comfortable working outdoors.
  • Availability to work overtime when required.
