Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our team at GFR Ingredients Inc. in a permanent position.

Work Environment:
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 42 hours per week
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • or equivalent experience
Responsibilities:
  • Operate machinery to process and bag, box or otherwise package food products
  • Perform corrective machine adjustments
  • Record production information
  • Observe gauges, computer printouts and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Inform supervisor of mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities
  • Make adjustments to process variables
  • Maintain shift log of production and other data
  • Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines
  • Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Operate machines that blend, flavour, condition, dry, flatten, strip or cut raw tobacco leaves
Requirements:
  • Multi-functional process control machinery
  • Single function machine
  • Food manufacturing sector experience
  • Security and safety: criminal record check
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods, fast-paced environment
  • Own tools/equipment: steel-toed safety boots
  • Personal suitability: excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, team player
