Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery to process and package food products, performing corrective machine adjustments, and recording production information. The ideal candidate will have experience in a food processing environment and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate machinery to process and package food products
  • Perform corrective machine adjustments
  • Record production information
  • Observe gauges, computer printouts, and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Inform supervisor of mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities
  • Make adjustments to process variables
  • Maintain shift log of production and other data
  • Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines
  • Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food processing environment
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and handle heavy loads
