Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join its team. This is a great opportunity to work in a professionally managed clinic with a comfortable commute from central Halifax.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their medical histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consult with and refer patients to other medical practitioners as needed.
- Act as a patient's advocate and provide support throughout their healthcare journey.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations as required.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns to public health authorities as necessary.
This is a full-time position with a 1.0 FTE schedule.
Qualifications and Requirements- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
