About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our experienced administrative staff.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough patient examinations and taking accurate medical histories
  • Ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures as needed
  • Providing expert advice on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consulting with other medical practitioners as required
  • Acting as a patient advocate and ensuring their needs are met
  • Prescribing and administering medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
  • Reporting births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours

This is a full-time position, requiring a commitment to providing excellent patient care and working collaboratively with our team.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Additionally, you must be a member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
