Job Title: Structural Engineer

At Construction Specialties, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reviewing structural design analysis for all exterior aluminum products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient with structural design analysis programs; RISA-3D, SAP2000, STAAD, etc.
  • High knowledge of Canadian and US building codes and design manuals.
  • High experience working with latest AutoCAD and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects and flexible to change tasks with short notice.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Coordinate products shop drawings, manufacturing, installation, support, and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and design requirements.
  • Generates AutoCAD details based on conceptual sketches or needs to develop custom design to meet the needs of the customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering (MS preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of structural design analysis with aluminum and steel structures.
  • Must be a self-starter, with demonstrated autonomy, able to handle unexpected events and take advantage of opportunities to achieve results to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Must perform as a flexible team member and be a proficient leader and developer of technical people.
  • Must be able to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and related software.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of installation, machining, and welding techniques.
