We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Glacier Discovery Centre in Columbia Icefield. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including the Glacier Skywalk and Icefield staff accommodation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily maintenance checks and complete repairs within your scope of experience and skill
- Follow up on maintenance requests and participate in seasonal annual opening and closing procedures
- Book and coordinate contractors as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Mature, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated individual with a Class 5 driver's license (unrestricted) and Standard First Aid Certification
- Previous plumbing, electrical, building, and carpentry experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and capable of manual duties
- Proven ability to complete minor building repairs to proper building standards/codes
- Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Dependable, self-motivated, and fully capable of working autonomously
- Employee and public relations skills and a friendly/cooperative nature
- Competitive hourly rate of $20.00
- $17.50 per day housing and meals (based on double occupancy)
- Eligibility for an end-of-season retention bonus
