Job Summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Counselor/Facilitator to join our team in Rankin Inlet. As a key member of our community development team, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and facilitating culturally relevant programs to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders in our correctional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally relevant programs based on traditional Inuit culture and practices
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and group facilitation services to offenders
  • Collaborate with community partners to identify resources and support for offenders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to community development and offender reintegration
Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in community development, counseling, or program facilitation
  • Strong background in Inuit culture and traditions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
