Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

Smiths Interconnect is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting products, processes, equipment, and employees to ensure compliance with the company's regulatory policies, procedures, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-line inspection and data collection
  • Incoming inspection of raw materials
  • Final/outgoing inspection
  • Works using key cards, written procedures, manuals, drawings, and other verbal and written instructions detailing product performance criteria
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and delicate equipment to ensure all our products are tested/sorted and within specifications
  • Visual inspection of products (possibly using microscope) to company specifications
  • Some mechanical assembly to finalize product after determining performance/quality criteria
  • Serialization of product
  • Custom labeling
  • Ability to follow documented data collection process and store appropriate data as needed
  • Preparing Certificates of Compliance and any other customer-requested test information
  • Putting finished product into pre-pack boxes/trays for transfer to Stores
  • Achieving shipping targets as established by the company
  • Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required, DEC in Electronics or another relevant field is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience related to Quality
  • Able to read Mechanical and schematic footprint drawings
  • Able to use standard metrology equipment (i.e., calipers, micrometer, and height gauge)
  • Use the ERP system to electronically process inspection
  • Candidates must be energetic, proactive, and be a team player that can take ownership of their tasks
  • A high degree of concentration and close visual attention for sustained periods as well as very close attention to
  • Advanced organizational skills and time management
  • Communicate in English & French (spoken and written)
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word/Excel/Outlook)
