Job Summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Diesel Technician to join our team in Thunder Bay. As a Field Service Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for completing preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites.
  • Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Red seal certification.
  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
  • Locally valid driving permit.
  • NORCAT certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in various locations from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay. The ideal candidate should have good communication and soft skills, as well as the ability to convey complex technical information in plain language.
