We are looking for a highly skilled diesel engine technician to join our team at Wajax. As a diesel engine technician, you will be responsible for providing quality workmanship and technical knowledge to our customers in a shop environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Inspect and diagnose engine and transmission components to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Communicate with our service manager to obtain authorization for servicing and repairs.
  • Service and repair equipment in our shop, utilizing your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Recondition and remanufacture components as required, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with our staff and management team.
  • Communicate equipment servicing needs with our Branch Supervisor/Manager.
  • Document work performed and complete service paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Update and maintain service records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Fill out warranty information and complete work orders using our online operating system.
  • Participate in manufacturers' and in-house service training to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Participate in all required Health & Safety Training and comply with our Health & Safety program and practices.
  • Perform daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others.
  • Work with our manufacturers' online support to resolve technical issues and improve our service offerings.
  • Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Maintain a professional company image at all times, representing Wajax with pride and integrity.
  • Meet the requirements of Field/Shop Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

**Requirements:**

  • Trade certification, Journeyman Red Seal, and/or current registration in a related Provincial Apprenticeship program.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to work with customers and provide exceptional customer service, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with a strong understanding of diesel engine technology.
  • Knowledge of Detroit and Allison engines is considered an asset, but not required.
