Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, replacements, and preventative measures to ensure the integrity of our facilities.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
  • Volunteer Coordination
    • Work with volunteers and other stakeholders to complete maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Health and Safety
    • Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety concerns related to our facilities.
    • Collaborate with supervisors to address concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Administration
    • Conduct annual inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies.
    • Coordinate with The Salvation Army's property management team as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
    • Post-secondary education or training in building, property, or trades management is an asset.
  • Experience and Skills
    • A minimum of one year of related experience in building operations, property maintenance, and trades.
    • Working knowledge of building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
    • Valid Manitoba driver's license and a satisfactory driver's abstract.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Able to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sign a confidentiality statement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
