Job Summary:

CareerBeacon is seeking a highly skilled Relief Shift Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facility in New Brunswick. As a Relief Shift Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant's equipment and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vacation relief for our shift operating engineers in our steam plant
  • Ensure optimum production operations by being responsible for our plant's equipment and engineering systems
  • Actively contribute to the team and ensure safe, trouble-free operation of the plant and all work activities
  • Monitor safety, process, and quality parameters
  • Detect, address, document, and communicate all potential equipment problems and safety issues with existing and new plant systems
  • Perform required testing on equipment and systems to ensure all safety systems are fully functional at all times

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer license with 3-5 years of experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting steam boilers
  • Compressed Gas Licence - Class M Refrigeration Maintainer and Fired Heating Licence with 3-5 years of experience
  • Completion of college CEGEP, vocational, or technical training in Industrial Mechanics, Refrigeration, Millwright, Welder, etc.
  • Experience with refrigeration and/or combustion equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Experience with control systems or CMMS Maintenance is considered an asset
