Assistant Swim Team Coach Opportunity
The Arbutus Club, a renowned private club in Vancouver, is seeking a part-time Assistant Swim Team Coach to join our team. As a coach, you will be responsible for teaching the four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, to our young swimmers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach swimmers the proper techniques for each stroke, ensuring they understand and can execute them correctly.
- Provide in-water coaching to specific groups and levels, offering hands-on instruction and guidance.
- Ensure a safe environment for all swimmers, teaching and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
- Monitor the progress of each swimmer, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes improvement and mastery of skills over competition.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a swim coach or similar role.
- Knowledge of swimming strokes and teaching techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and the ability to instruct children of varying skill levels.
