Overview
Alberta Health Services is seeking an experienced Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our Assertive Outreach Team in Fort McMurray.
Salary & Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a competitive rate of pay, with a base salary estimated at $60,000 per year. In addition to this, AHS has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place, valued at up to $12,480 annually, which is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Job Description
As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community-based services to individuals with chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles. Your duties will include supporting clients in their recovery plans, facilitating participation in daily activities, recreational pursuits, educational programs, and employment opportunities. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and service providers to provide comprehensive support to clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent. Additionally, you should have a minimum of one year's experience working in an Addiction and Mental Health Community program. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and knowledge of trauma-informed care are also essential requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Mental Health First Aid certification, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training, and previous outreach experience are highly desirable. Engaging interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a strong commitment to providing excellent client-centered care are also valuable assets in this role.
