Talent Acquisition Specialist I

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist I to join our team at Seaspan ULC. As a key member of our recruitment team, you will play a critical role in enhancing our recruitment process, ensuring a seamless experience for both Hiring Managers and Candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full cycle recruitment process for assigned business portfolios, from intake meetings to candidate acceptance.
- Utilize in-depth screening to ensure candidates possess the required competencies, behaviors, and skills for success in their position.
- Act as a primary contact with candidates, ensuring a strong candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
- Partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and guide on internal opportunities.
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidates' qualifications and fit for internal opportunities.
- Provide talent mapping guidance and align recruitment strategy to build the best approach for each search, including direct sourcing, networking, and researching.
- Maintain detailed records and provide comprehensive written reviews to Hiring Managers on interviewed or screened candidates.
- Chair candidate feedback sessions with Hiring Managers and other collaborators as required.
- Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (COE) in generating and processing candidate offers.
- Partner with the HR team to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to internal mobility and recruitment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
- Prepare spreadsheets, graphs, flow charts, and statistics as required.
- Initiate new-hire workflows and facilitate internal promotions, transfers, and conversions.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Lead various projects related to candidate attraction, employer branding initiatives, and employee engagement activities to promote Seaspan as an employer of choice for external talent.
- 1-3 years of experience working as a Talent Acquisition or Human Resource Coordinator, preferably with a focus on internal opportunities or talent management in large diverse organizations.
- Good understanding of recruitment processes and best practices, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing techniques.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, including social media reach-outs (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook groups), leveraging network contacts of Hiring Managers and Employees, and other creative sources.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) with a preference for Oracle experience best practices, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing techniques.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint are definite requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service to Hiring Managers and Candidates.
- Sound understanding of the interconnected functions of HR and have demonstrable experience building positive relationships with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, and beyond.
- This is a full-time permanent position with long-term projects that need long-term strategic thinking support.
- While reporting directly to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, you will manage your own portfolio of work and projects as a member of the team.
- This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, providing the opportunity to work remotely 50% of the time.
