Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Treasury Manager to join our team in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the Bank's global funding strategy and implementing solutions to minimize funding costs while expanding the investor base.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in finance, capital markets, or treasury. You will work closely with senior leaders to develop and execute strategic plans, identify market trends, and negotiate to achieve business objectives. Your expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and accounting systems will be crucial in providing corporate funding insights and recommendations.

Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $81,600.00 - $151,200.00, based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role. Additionally, you can expect a comprehensive total compensation package that includes performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the Bank's investor base and global market access
  • Support the development of the securitization & funding strategy over a multi-year plan horizon to optimize the funding strategy while maintaining compliance with legal/regulatory requirements
  • Recommends optimal transaction pricing, term, and size for funding programs/solutions including capital, senior note and structured product issuance e.g. credit card, HELOC, mortgage, Covered Bond, Canada Mortgage Bond, and mortgage backed securitizations
  • Maintain expertise in all regulations, directives and guidance which apply to the Corporate Treasury group, including interpreting regulations and understanding emerging issues; ensure that BMO FG remains compliant with all external regulations
  • Broaden the debit investor base to ensure the Bank is well-funded to support the growth objectives and competitive positioning
  • Provide leadership and advocates for corporate funding initiatives/programs, securitization and capital issuance programs from approval through execution

Requirements

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth experience in Finance, Investment Banking, Capital Markets or Treasury
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
