Nipissing University invites applications for a 10-month Limited Term Faculty Appointment in the Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Economics. This position is located in North Bay, Ontario.
About the DepartmentThe Philosophy program at Nipissing offers an Honours Specialization, Specialization, Major, and Minor degree. Faculty anticipate making several changes to curriculum over the coming year, with the aim of making the program more flexible for students and strengthening contributions to the university as a whole in the area of ethics.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in the history of philosophy
- Contribute to curriculum reform in Philosophy
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda in Philosophy
- Completed or near completion of a Ph.D. in Philosophy
- Teaching competence in the history of philosophy
- Research experience in Philosophy, with a focus on ethics and public policy-related topics
