Department of Indigenous Learning Faculty Position

Lakehead University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Indigenous Learning. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission, with a focus on Indigenous intellectual traditions and Indigenous/settler relations.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and develop courses in Indigenous Studies, including experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery.
- Conduct research in Indigenous Studies, with a focus on community relationships and innovative pedagogical practices.
- Engage in service to the department, faculty, and university, including committee work and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Indigenous Studies or an Indigenous Studies-related field, with experience working with Indigenous communities in the northern regions of Turtle Island and organizations outside of academe. Lived experience as an Indigenous person with strong ties to Indigenous nation(s) and Indigenous knowledges will be considered a significant asset.
