The Landlord Liaison will lead efforts to market HRIC's housing programs effectively, developing partnerships with landlords to increase the availability of permanent housing units. They will work closely with Urban Indigenous Homeward Bound Navigators and other HRIC staff to ensure participants can access and sustain housing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • IDentifying permanent housing units in the rental market
  • Developing partnerships with landlords to overcome barriers to housing
  • Providing community education on eviction prevention, landlord and tenant rights, and responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A college diploma in Social Services, Indigenous Studies, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in the housing sector
  • Strong understanding of barriers to accessing and maintaining housing from an Indigenous perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate outreach efforts with local partners
  • Ability to develop and implement workshops, groups, and surveys

You will also need:

  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interview skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and 365

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per annum
