Job Description
As an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing safe stay-at-work or return-to-work plans to bridge the gap between employees' functional capacity and job demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customized rehabilitation plans to support employees' safe return to work
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, managers, and employees to identify workplace hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Conduct thorough assessments of employee capabilities and job requirements to ensure seamless transitions
- Maintain accurate records and reports to track program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field, with Functional Capacity Evaluation certification
- Minimum two years of experience in a unionized healthcare environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees, managers, and healthcare professionals
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
