About the Role:

Circle of Care is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team at the Adult Day Program in Maple. As a Recreation Therapist, you will contribute to the development and implementation of recreation programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement evidence-based recreation programs for clients with varying abilities and needs.
  • Conduct recreation activities with groups, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
  • Monitor and maintain the use of recreation equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Participate in health and safety processes and procedures, identifying and reporting incidents and concerns in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Recreation Therapy or completion of two (2) years community college in Recreation Therapy.
  • Professional member in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certified.
  • U-First training an asset.
  • Experience working with frail and impaired elderly and their families.
  • Experience working with seniors who have Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
  • Experience in recreational programming for seniors.
  • Intermediate computer and writing skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
