Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our Therapeutic Services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care activities, including delegated and supervised tasks, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • Work collaboratively with our Therapist team to develop and implement effective care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
  • Contribute to a safe and respectful environment by adhering to our organization's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • High school education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program is required.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English communication is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods without resting.
  • Must demonstrate safe and effective body mechanics while working with patients.
  • Must be capable of bending, stretching, and lifting while performing patient care and non-patient care duties.
  • Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy patients who may have limited or no weight-bearing capabilities.
