About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories and perform standardized tests to determine physical diagnoses
  • Develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Supervise and evaluate physiotherapy students and assistants
  • Collaborate with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist who possesses:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (provincial licensing body)
  • Computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and GroupWise
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification (WHMIS)
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $42.89. Additionally, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
