Job Description: High Risk Equipment Safety Manager

The High-Risk Equipment Safety Manager oversees and audits the installation, use, and maintenance of high-risk equipment life safety systems across our sites. This role works closely with Field Operations Managers, Health & Safety Managers, and the Director of Health & Safety to ensure necessary support, guidance, and oversight for worker and project safety.

  • Liaises with stakeholders in pre-construction to understand project limitations and advises on options related to Tower Cranes and other high-risk equipment.
  • Conducts detailed hazard assessments, including task analysis, risk management, and implementation of control measures to improve safety in high-risk equipment management.
  • Sureties Notice of Project - Tower Crane submissions to WorkSafeBC for all new crane erections.
  • Attends and leads meetings between the company and relevant stakeholders for planning, erection, operation, maintenance, and take-down of Tower Cranes.
Requirements

We're seeking an experienced safety professional with:

  • Five or more years of experience in a safety position acquired in a construction setting.
  • National Construction Safety Officer accreditation or similar through a recognized training authority.
  • Familiarity with reading engineered drawings and applicable Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including accident prevention and cause analysis.
