Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our GREP Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing the client billing process for project-related activities, ensuring timely and accurate recovery of Ministry-funded projects and collection of billings to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operationalize the client billing process for project-related activities for the General Real Estate Portfolio (GREP), including timely and accurate billing of monthly project value of work to ministries.
  • Operationalize and consolidate accounts receivable reporting for GREP, including those maintained by service providers through their A/R subledger; prepare summary reports with meaningful insights and analysis, follow up with ministries and other clients on a timely basis.
  • Support manager to ensure appropriate internal controls are maintained over all accounts receivable processes, escalating and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Prepare aged accounts receivable reports with meaningful insights to client management and project management teams for follow-up and escalation with ministries and agencies.
  • Prepare quarterly inter-ministry reconciliation reports with additional details in the Province's format to send out to ministries with Agency clients for reconciliation and confirmation.
  • Prepare A/R and Revenue details for annual public accounts reporting.
  • Ensure A/R subledgers are reconciled to the GL, to ensure completeness and accuracy of transactions recorded in the GL.
  • Assist in special assignments, including financial systems and new service provider integrations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Progressing through CPA program (preferred).
  • A few years of finance or business experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • The following specialized knowledge would be assets for the job:
  • Yardi financial system.
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), internal control processes.
  • Good understanding of Real Estate and construction projects accounting practices.
