Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by analyzing and interpreting laboratory results.

Responsibilities:

* Accession and process specimens according to laboratory protocols
* Gross and examine surgical specimens to identify tissue types and abnormalities
* Embed and section tissue blocks for histological examination
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and IHC stainers
* Correlate cut slides to tissue blocks and identify any discrepancies
* File and archive slides and blocks for future reference

Requirements:

* Medical laboratory technologist with CSMLS certification
* Minimum five years recent experience in general histology in a hospital setting
* Immunohistochemistry experience is preferred
* Current registration with CMLTO in good standing
* Strong medical terminology and communication skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
