Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

At William Osler Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the processing and examination of tissue specimens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accessioning and processing of tissue specimens, including grossing, embedding, and sectioning
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including microtomes and IHC stainers
  • Preparing and staining tissue sections for microscopic examination
  • Correlating tissue blocks with corresponding slides and blocks
  • Assisting with quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Providing excellent customer service and communication with laboratory staff and clinicians
Requirements:
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist certification (CSMLS) and current registration with CMLTO
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience in general histology in a hospital setting
  • Immunohistochemistry experience is an asset
  • Strong medical terminology and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
