Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at William Osler Health System.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to histology, including specimen accessioning, grossing, embedding, and staining. They will also be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, as well as assisting with quality control and quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accession and process specimens according to laboratory protocols
  • Perform grossing and embedding of tissue specimens
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes and IHC stainers
  • Assist with quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results
Requirements:
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist certification (CSMLS)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general histology in a hospital setting
  • Immunohistochemistry experience is an asset
  • Current registration with CMLTO in good standing
  • Strong medical terminology and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
