About Our Team:

Societe Generale's Risk Management Department plays a vital role in the bank's sustainable growth by leveraging its expertise, risk understanding, and management techniques.

The department's mission is to independently analyze, assess, manage, and monitor risk-taking activities with the objective of achieving the best possible outcome for the bank. This involves overseeing enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, model, and other risks associated with corporate and investment banking business activities.

Within this framework, the Model Risk Management (MRM) team embedded within the Risk Management function oversees model risk management. The MRM team's primary responsibilities include supervising the model risk management function for the SG America regions (US, Canada, and Latin America), ensuring SG America's governance for model risk, and conducting independent reviews of models within its scope.

Main Responsibilities:

The Quantitative Advisor will participate in the development and maintenance of the continuous model monitoring (CMM) framework to assess models' performance, effectiveness of the MRM framework, and the model business environment on an ongoing basis. Collaboration with the Team Manager will involve:

  • Metrics Design and Implementation: Developing and implementing metrics aimed at monitoring model performance within the advisor's model scope.
  • Analysis of Metrics Results and Breach Management: Conducting thorough analysis of metrics results and managing breaches accordingly.
  • Data Quality: Maintaining data quality and consistency across different systems.
  • Model Risk Identification and Assessment: Identifying and assessing model-related risks.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with front-office staff, model developers, model validators, IT services, and risk managers.

Compensation Package:

This highly competitive position offers a salary range of $120,000-$180,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary, Societe Generale provides a comprehensive benefits package, including minimum 20 vacation days + 4 personal days, supportive maternity/paternity/parental/adoption leave policy, health spending, and personal spending accounts.
