Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per yearAbout the JobThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled GIS Data Analyst to join our team in Ville Saint-Laurent. As a GIS Data Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering geospatial data, imagery data, cultural feature data, and architectural information to create synthetic environment content data sets.
You will work with different types of geographic datasets, including shapefiles, raster & geodatabases, and ArcGIS environment. Your tasks will include developing SE content data sets from source data using GIS software tools such as ArcMap and FME, producing SE content data sets compliant to Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC 1.0) specifications, deploying SE content data sets, managing GIS database and updating GIS metadata.
You will also use Agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance the client customer and employee experience. Collaboration with other team members is essential to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you should have:
- Analyzing and manipulation of GIS data sets using ArcGIS and FME
- Working with satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and vector data to create detailed, high-resolution data sets
- A passion for manipulating GIS data and a demonstrated interest for continual learning
- Displays an Agile mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work and make decisions unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good time-management skills, ability to juggle several tasks at once
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in technology and to operate in an R&D environment
- Result-oriented, strong planning and organizational skill
The ideal candidate should have:
- University or college degree in IT, GIS, or geomatics
- Must be able to be cleared to work on Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) projects
