Health Care Aide Instructor

Northern Lakes College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Instructor to join our team in the Health Care Aide program. As an Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they receive the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instruction in classroom, laboratory, and workplace settings, utilizing a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to engage adult learners.
- Become knowledgeable of the Health Care Aide program and its expectations, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students.
- Assess prior learning, tutor students, and provide accurate and timely information regarding courses and program requirements.
- Establish and maintain a classroom/laboratory environment conducive to learning, ensuring students are familiar with the content of the student handbook.
- Provide opportunities for students' evaluation of instruction, making adjustments as needed in response to student feedback.
- Build a mutually comfortable working relationship with students, advocating on their behalf and demonstrating a respect for individual differences.
- Meet/communicate with each student on a regular basis, encouraging peer support activities and monitoring student attendance and progress.
- Organize/facilitate student orientation to the college and program, ensuring exam security and coordinating exam schedules as required.
- Liaise with student sponsors/employers, promoting college programs and maintaining good public relations.
- Adhere to College and program policies, procedures, and guidelines, participating in professional development and annually identifying learning goals.
- Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Eligibility for registration for CLPNA, CPRNA, or CARNA.
- Minimum one (1) year continuing care clinical experience in a health care facility.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel.
