Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist II to join our team at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre's Long Term Care Unit. As a Recreation Therapist II, you will provide clinical leadership and supervision to the recreation team, ensuring safe and efficient care for our patients. Your expertise in therapeutic recreation will be instrumental in developing and implementing programs that promote patient-centered care and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the recreation team
  • Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic recreation programs
  • Coordinate patient assessments, treatments, and education
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or Recreation and Leisure Studies
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)
  • Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist
