Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist II to join our team at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre's Long Term Care Unit. As a Recreation Therapist II, you will take a leadership role in ensuring that the level of therapeutic recreation practice in your clinical area is evidence-based, patient-and family-centred and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to ensure safe and efficient care
  • Coordinate the assessment, treatment, education and care of the patient
  • Participate in program development to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients' treatment progress
  • Provide clinical support and consultation
  • Collaborate and communicate with the health care team

Requirements:

  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies
  • Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)
  • Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist
