About This Job

Costa's Food Market is seeking a skilled Meat Cutting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive high-quality meat products.

Job Summary

This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, and will be required to have excellent oral communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting.
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters.
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
  • Wrap and package prepared meats.
  • Remove bones from meat.
  • Cut poultry into parts.
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers.
  • Grind meats.
  • Train meat cutters.
  • Slice cooked meats.
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products.
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood.
  • Prepare special orders.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
Work Environment
  • Cold/refrigerated environment.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Fast-paced environment.
