Job Title: Butcher - Meat Cutter - Retail Meat Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Butcher - Meat Cutter - Retail Meat Specialist to join our team at Costa's Food Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting
  • Cut and trim standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Cut poultry into parts
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers
  • Grind meats
  • Train meat cutters
  • Slice cooked meats
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood
  • Prepare special orders

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Dependability, flexibility, initiative, and reliability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
