Overview
Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is seeking a visionary Hardware Director to lead our global hardware organization. This role demands both functional and technical leadership, shaping the strategic direction of a multi-disciplinary team encompassing mechanical, electrical, Radio Frequency, product compliance, hardware architecture, and test systems.
As Hardware Director, you will cultivate a culture of excellence, empowering your teams to deliver world-class mining products that exceed customer expectations. Your exceptional leadership, mentoring, and communication skills will be instrumental in driving success.
Reporting to the Director, Program & Process Management, you will collaborate with talented Engineering and Project Management teams across Hexagon Mining and Autonomy & Positioning divisions to deliver complex programs.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Vice President of Hardware Engineering on key strategies, fostering collaboration opportunities between Hexagon's Mining and Autonomy & Positioning organizations, as well as across other Hexagon divisions.
- Define the vision and goals for the hardware organization, ensuring alignment and focus across all teams.
- Foster a highly collaborative environment, facilitating effective interaction within product development, operations, and product management teams.
- Engage directly with manufacturing and supply chain leaders to ensure teams address critical issues with appropriate prioritization and life cycle processes.
- Mentor your technical staff, evolving their skills and experience to meet project demands, mitigate risks, and address challenges effectively.
- Actively participate in all development and pre-development project planning, reviews, and approvals.
- Support your team with key project and resource priority decisions.
- Monitor field quality and establish corrective actions and plans as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement and consistency of development and risk processes.
- Collaborate with other Engineering Directors to establish effective budgeting, planning, strategy alignment, and overall engineering processes.
- Mentor the HW architect and cultivate a system-thinking approach within the Mining engineering team.
- Support the team in evolving the Tucson engineering lab and infrastructure.
