Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic individual to join our team as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Food Safety and Microbiology at the University of Saskatchewan.

About the Department

The Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences is a vibrant and research-intensive department with a strong tradition of research excellence. Our faculty members have diverse research programs in areas such as food nutrigenomics, brewing, food/environmental microbiology, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a cross-cutting research program in food safety and microbiology
  • Contribute to and develop courses within our undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Undertake administrative duties and participate in departmental and university collegial processes
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Applied Microbiology, Food Microbiology, or Microbial Biotechnology (or a related discipline), coupled with complementary expertise in one or more of the following domains: food safety, novel detection methods of microbial pathogens, remote sensing/digital imaging, risk assessment and hazard management, or molecular microbial ecology of food systems.
