Job Title: Assistant Professor, Digital Pedology and Pedometrics

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our Department of Soil Science within the College of Agriculture and Bioresources at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for teaching on-campus, lecture-based courses and potentially off-campus, field-based courses specific to the Digital Ag program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in pedometrics and digital soil mapping
  • Contribute to the delivery of existing field courses in the RRM and SLSC programs
  • Establish a research program in pedometrics and digital soil mapping, with a focus on soil-landscape relationships and quantitative landscape models
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to advance research and teaching in digital agriculture
  • Forge relationships with digital agriculture partners, including new faculty hires in the digital agriculture cluster, the Global Institute for Food Security, and across the University of Saskatchewan campus
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline, such as Soil Science or Pedology
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to plan for complex research activities
  • Eligibility for membership in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists
