Regina Claims Specialist

Job Overview:
The City of Regina is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Claims Investigator to join our team. As a Claims Investigator, you will be responsible for investigating and processing claims against the City of Regina, determining liability and negotiating settlements.
About the Role:
This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a university degree or college diploma in a relevant field, such as insurance or business, and possess experience in claims investigation and negotiation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Investigate all claims against the City of Regina
- Determine liability and negotiate settlements with claimants
- Assist the Risk Manager in providing risk management services to the City
- Pursue recovery for damage to City property
- Participate in legal proceedings, including hearings and trials
- Provide technical advice on matters related to claims
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant field (e.g. insurance, business)
- Experience in claims investigation and negotiation
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of claims handling procedures and general insurance industry
- Knowledge of claims recovery principles and procedures
Working Conditions:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
