Key Responsibilities- Flood and maintain ice surfaces for all 4 pads according to the daily schedule, ensuring optimal ice quality and safety.
- Perform janitorial duties in the dressing rooms, maintaining a clean and safe environment for athletes and staff.
- Ensure all entrances are clear and safe of debris and snow, promoting a safe and accessible facility.
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks throughout the facility, including equipment repairs and upkeep.
- Complete log reports as required, providing accurate and timely information for facility management.
- Operate and maintain ice maintenance equipment, performing minor repairs as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer needs in a kind and courteous manner.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Participate in annual maintenance projects, contributing to the overall upkeep and improvement of the facilities.
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and internal policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Use protective equipment and devices as required, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.
- Report any missing or defective equipment to the Director of Operations, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Report any contraventions of OHSA regulations or company policies to the Director of Operations.
- Have a good knowledge of emergency evacuation policies, ensuring a safe and efficient response in case of an emergency.
- Complete online training modules, including Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA) and Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness.
- Participate in on-site training sessions as scheduled, enhancing skills and knowledge in areas such as customer service.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a recreation facility as a driver.
- Class 'B' Refrigeration Operator Certificate preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude an asset.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and defibrillation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of equipment repairs and usage.
