Material Management Site Liaison

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Material Management Site Representative to join our team in Bagotville, QC. As a key member of our Material Management team, you will act as a liaison between our team, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and our on-site operation team to ensure seamless material management processes.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our customer and subcontractor to meet the RCAF's operational targets while providing guidance on material management procedures. You will be the sole point of contact on the operating base for any contracted material requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Representing L3Harris Material Management team with the RCAF Wing's various levels of Logistic and operational planning organisations as well as the warehouse subcontractor;
  • Applying efficient communication practices to ensure stakeholders are informed of Material Management priorities, concerns, issues or projects;
  • Effectively managing customer communications with regards to material availability, scope changes and schedule;
  • Representing L3Harris during integrated team reviews with the customer and/or warehouse subcontractor;
  • Tracking the schedule of training and operational deployments, their requirements and reporting on their impacts on Pack-Up Kits (PUK) and material requirement to L3Harris Material Management team and the warehouse subcontractor;
  • Providing regular training and mentorship sessions on current and updates on Material Management processes and directives;
  • Liaising with the warehouse subcontractor for the effective inventory and management of L3Harris contracted portion of the PUKs, clarifying areas of concerns or deviations;
  • Supporting the effective coordination of Material Management needs as identified by the Logistics and Operational planning cells of the Tactical Fighter Squadrons, Air Maintenance Squadron and Operational Support Squadron;
  • Coordinating and tracking the repairs of components at 2nd Line by shops, being DND or L3Harris operated, to meet stocks requirements and readiness;
  • As directed by the Contract Manager Material Management, Operations Management, supporting the planning and scheduling of disposal requirements;
  • Coordinating with CF188 Hornet Extension Project Lines, Special Project Lines and Periodic Production lines to ensure components requirements in support of their respective scheduled are met;
  • Encouraging and championing Continuous Improvement principles and projects related to Material Management;
  • Completing projects and tasks as directed by the L3Harris Manager Material Management.

Requirements include:

  • College or undergraduate degree in a relevant field of expertise such as material management, supply chain management, logistics, engineering, operations management, aeronautics or equivalent experience;
  • Five (5) years of experience in management of logistics and material management, preferably in a military context;
  • Experience dealing with people of various professional background involved in military operations planning (an asset);
  • Knowledge of SAP;
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
  • Be customer service and results oriented while possessing an operational focus based on meeting schedules while adopting an approach that integrates with the company's values organization;
  • Knowledge of different problem solving methods (8D for example) (an asset);
  • Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement (concepts, methodology);
  • Knowledge of laws and policies related to the environment, health and safety at work (an asset);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) both orally and in writing (mandatory);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities;
  • Ability to communicate project related and technical details clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form;
  • Ability to deal directly with internal and external customers;
  • Ease of adaptation, interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills;
  • Solid skills in teamwork, in collaboration, in adaptability and operational flexibility in meeting objectives, in communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Available to travel (10% of the time).

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
