About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineering Manager to lead our team of electrical engineers and designers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing D-Wave's electronics capabilities to interface with quantum processing units and control high-reliability cryogenic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical engineering team to design and develop high-speed digital and low-noise analog quantum processor interface electronics, cryogenic filters, and transmission lines.
  • Facilitate design and research goals for the engineering team consistent with D-Wave's overall development roadmap.
  • Plan and facilitate career development for team members.
  • Budget electrical development activity.
  • Contribute to some electrical engineering design projects.
  • Interface with other teams to develop electrical specifications and goals for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Develop and modify design and documentation best practices.
  • Interface with operations and service teams to coordinate electrical maintenance and upgrades to quantum computing systems.

Requirements

  • Leadership skills with 3 or more years of experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in electrical engineering or engineering physics.
  • High-speed digital field-programmable gate array experience is an asset.
  • Low-noise, high-frequency analog and mixed-signal electronics design experience is an asset.
  • Microwave design experience is an asset.
  • High-reliability industrial controls design experience is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment focused on priorities and end results.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about learning.
  • Creative and able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team on a wide variety of problems.
  • Professional registration or eligible to obtain registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.

Compensation

The Canadian national average salary range for this role is $137,500 to $206,000. The disclosed range reflects the average base salary minimum and maximum target for new hires in the position in Canada. The respective salary range for the successful candidate will be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

This role is eligible to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan (Bonus plan), equity grants and programs, PTO, and a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, STD, LTD, and Travel Insurance.
