About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Manager to lead our team of electrical engineers and designers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing D-Wave's electronics capabilities to interface with quantum processing units and control high-reliability cryogenic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical engineering team to design and develop high-speed digital and low-noise analog quantum processor interface electronics, cryogenic filters, and transmission lines.
  • Facilitate design and research goals for the engineering team consistent with D-Wave's overall development roadmap.
  • Plan and facilitate career development for team members.
  • Budget electrical development activity.
  • Contribute to some electrical engineering design projects.
  • Interface with other teams to develop electrical specifications and goals for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Develop and modify design and documentation best practices.
  • Interface with operations and service teams to coordinate electrical maintenance and upgrades to quantum computing systems.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills with 3 or more years of experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in electrical engineering or engineering physics.
  • High-speed digital field programmable gate array experience is an asset.
  • Low-noise, high-frequency analog and mixed-signal electronics design experience is an asset.
  • Microwave design experience is an asset.
  • High-reliability industrial controls design experience is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment focused on priorities and end results.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about learning.
  • Professional registration or eligibility to obtain registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $137,500 to $206,000 per year, plus benefits, equity grants, and programs. This role is eligible to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan (Bonus plan) and comprehensive benefit package.
